A quintessence model from an axion-like potential

Dynamical models where the dark energy component is given by a canonical scalar field are known as quintessence models. In this work, we propose a quintessence model where the potential of the scalar field is a power-law modification of the typical axion-like potential. We study the dynamical system obtained when the scalar field plays the role of dark energy in a universe also filled with cold dark matter and radiation. We also analyze the cosmological perturbations of the model. We then obtain the matter power spectrum and fσ8 and compare them with ΛCDM ones.
