Lorentz gauge theory
Special relativity is founded on global Lorentz symmetry. The newly proposed foundation for a theory of spacetime and gravitation, the Lorentz gauge theory, generalises the symmetry to the group of local transformations. The theory addresses the problem of time, explains the missing mass of the universe without dark matter, and suggests a rationale for the initial conditions in cosmology. No metrics or tetrads are assumed in the formulation of the theory, but the only fundamental field besides the Lorentz gauge field is a canonical clock field.
